Archangelos
In Archangelos you have the ability to visit places of historic and ecological interest. Simple and friendly people are welcoming you in your every step. In the traditional cafes and tavernas you can taste ouzo and the Greek cuisine in a very warm atmosphere. Local bank stores, a post office department and health center facilities are easy to reach. A regular bus service connects Archangelos with the main points of interest on Rhodes island. We are also offering organized excursions and guided tours, either hiking or on bikes, all over Rhodes. Profitis Ilias: The mountain summit is reachable either through trails (approximately 45 minutes climb) or by car. Visit the small chapel on the top of the mountain and enjoy the excellent view of the east and south part of the island.
Kyra (chapel): Visit the famous Tsampika-Kyra chapel on the top of the mountain, located about 5 km from Archangelos town. You can drive up to 3/4 of the total distance and then walk for roughly 10 minutes to the top. Enjoy the panoramic view of the local area and the magnificent sunrises and sunsets.
Epta piges: For those who like to walk through the olive trees, the Seven Springs (Epta Piges) are reachable within an hour of walking. Alternatively, they can be accessed by car. Kerami, Kokkini Ammos: Quiet and isolated beaches for those who enjoy calm swim excursions. Select one of the many small bays reachable within an hour of walking to enjoy the sea away from the crowds. Part of the total distance can be covered by car.
The castle: Walk through the center of Archangelos and climb up the hill at the edge of the town towards the town castle. Visit the chapel of Saint George built inside the castle and enjoy a panoramic view of the town.
